ZIMRA FDMS Fiscalisation: What Every VAT-Registered Business Needs to Know
Fiscal devices, branches, fiscal days and device orders — explained.

Fiscalisation means every sale a VAT-registered business makes is recorded by a fiscal device and reported to ZIMRA. ZIMRA's Fiscalisation Data Management System (FDMS) is the platform behind it.
Compliance note — fiscalisation
VAT-registered operators are required to record taxable supplies through fiscal devices registered with ZIMRA and to issue fiscal tax invoices. Input tax claims must be supported by valid fiscal tax invoices, and failure to fiscalise attracts penalties.

The building blocks
- Branches — each trading location registered on FDMS.
- Fiscal devices — physical or virtual devices assigned to a branch.
- Fiscal days — each device opens and closes fiscal days; sales are reported within them.
- Device orders — new devices are ordered through the FDMS portal.
Where businesses struggle
- Not knowing which device belongs to which branch.
- Device orders that disappear into email threads.
- Fiscal days left open or closed incorrectly.
- Input tax claims for receipts that are not on FDMS.
How YoBridge helps
YoBridge brings your FDMS information into one place — branches, devices, fiscal days, test devices and purchases — and lets you place FDMS device orders that it tracks through to completion and device assignment. Order events can be sent to your own systems by webhook.
Your FDMS purchases also power input VAT reconciliation, so you know which claims are backed by fiscal receipts before you file VAT.
Note that real-time invoice fiscalisation is done by your POS, billing or ERP system talking to FDMS — YoERP does this natively. YoBridge manages the portal side.
